Award Ceremony For TKU Athletes

【Bo-xian Lu, Tamsui Campus Report】Tamkang University sports athletic representatives receive medals and congratulations from the university president. President Flora Chia-I Chang congratulated the 161 sports members for their performance in the great national competition that included top universities of Taiwan. The representatives received 17 gold medals, 12 silver medals and 12 bronze medals, placing TKU in 9th place in the overall competition.

【Yi-ru Chen, Tamsui Campus Report】On June 11th in the Shao-mo Memorial Gymnasium, the Extracurricular Activities Guidance Section held the first Student Organization Graduation Ceremony with close to 150 student group members. Director of the Extracurricular Activities Guidance, Su-kuan Chiang, expressed, “I’m so glad to see all of the students come together for this event. It reminds me of the famous words of John Lennon, who said a dream you dream alone is only a dream, a dream you dream together is reality.”

【Yu-xuan Li, Tamsui Campus Report】If you have been to the Chueh-sheng library in recent days, your path was probably blocked by many of renovations projects taking place. On June 10th the renovation was completed and students and teachers can now savor the new style of the library that has created a relaxing a beautiful atmosphere for study. The windows, colors, symbols and different fabrics in the newly modeled hallways raise the quality of the environment. President Flora Chia-I Chang hosted a tea party, celebrating the library’s new make over.

【Jin-yu Cai, Xue-fen Ma, Tamsui Campus Report】Lanyang Campus held its 7th Annual Graduation Ceremony on June 6th at 10am in the Shao-mo Activity Center. The graduation included 223 graduating students, 16 of which are students from China. Before the ceremony began, students, teachers and parents toured the unique campus of Lanyang, ready to bid farewell. Flags, decorations and graduation gifts dawned the buildings, halls and walkways as students cheerfully prepared for the ceremony.

【Yi-ting Li, Tamsui Campus Report】Tamkang University’s long distance study program is successful! Students enrolled in the E-Learning Executive Master's Program of Asian Studies come from many areas including the Dominican Republic, Argentina, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama. After the third year of the program, 9 students have completed the 24 credit course and the graduation ceremony was held on June 11th in the Cheuh-sheng International Conference Hall.

【Yu-xuan Li, Tamsui Campus Report】The Tamkang University 2015 graduation ceremony took place on June 13th (Saturday) at 10am in the Shao-mo Memorial Gymnasium. President Flora Chia-I Chang hosted the event and President of the Alumni Association of Tamkang University, Ding-chuan Chen, was invited to give the opening address. Also in attendance was Speaker of the House of São Tomé and Príncipe, Jos'e da Graca, Ambassador of São Tomé and Príncipe, Ladislau D'almeida, Former TKU Presidents, Yea-hong Chen, Louis R. Chow, Yun-shan Lin, Horng-jinh Chang, Chairman Ching-nan Chen, Supervisor Mei-lan Wang, Deputy Chairman of the Alumni Association of Tamkang University, Chao-shen Chen and many family members and supporters of the graduating students, totalling to 7,200 people.
