More than 30 international scholars have arrived for lectures and presentations organized by the Graduate Institute of Future Studies in commemoration of TKU's 55th founding anniversary. One of them, Dr. Richard Slaughter, the president of the World Futures Studies Federation, will give three lectures, with one of them being broadcasted to two other universities on line through the form of video-conferencing.
His first lecture about the future of Future Studies is at 2 pm at T505 on Monday (10/31). His second lecture on what Future Studies us will be at 10 am at I501 on Tuesday (11/1) and will be broadcasted on line. The third is on the future of education renovation will take place at 10 am at Ching Sheng International Conference Hall on Wednesday (11/2).
Another scholar, Ashis Nandy, one of the leading scholars in post-colonialism, will speak about "Globalization and Post-Colonialism" at 10 am on Friday (11/4) at the Chueh Sheng International Conference Hall. He is a key player but also an avid critic of any study on futures. He dedicates his research to greater facilitation of peace in the world. He is currently the Director of the Centre for the Study of the Developing Societies and is affiliated with the Committee for Cultural Choices and Global Futures. Both are based in New Delhi, India.
