STUDENT ASSOCIATIONS AND CLUBS TO BE EVALUATED: MAY 29~31

The 2003 academic year evaluation of student associations and clubs will be held from May 29 to May 31. The awarding ceremony is to take place at 2 P.M., May 31. According to Extracurricular Activities Guidance Section, those clubs to be assessed should send their profiles and related materials to the Student Activities Center and arrange their stalls between 6 and 8 P.M, Friday (May 28).

Classified according to the nature of the clubs or associations, these student organizations are divided into nine categories: academic, literature and arts, leisure, athletic, high-school-union, musical, service, religious, and departmental association. One of every five clubs will be awarded. The first prize will be awarded with 6, 000 NT, and the others will be given the Honor Prize with 3, 000 NT. For the awarded clubs and associations, the cadre members and those who are responsible for the display will be cited for honor.

The club evaluation is an important annual activity, in which every student organization can reflect on its own records and achievements, and it can also inspect and learn from one another. The Extracurricular Activities Guidance Section urges every student club and association to join the assessment. Those organizations, which do not take part in the evaluation, are obliged to turn in their yearly records of activities, achievements, expenses, and other related materials to the EAGS before Wednesday (May 26). Their profiles are to be displayed along with those assessed ones during the evaluation. For those leaders and cadre members who do neither of the above will be penalized with Warning twice and once respectively. Any clubs penalized two times will be dismissed!

There are two kinds of judges: in-campus and off-campus critics. The former consists of distinguished club instructors, leaders of former First Prize winners, cadre members of former Honor Prize. The latter includes distinguished club instructors from other schools, and graduated club leaders and cadre members of First Prize winners. On Saturday, 9 A.M to 5 P.M., both groups of critics will assess the clubs; in the meantime, every club has to appoint members to interpret their display to the critics. On Sunday, only campus critics will do the assessment, and yet, the number of interpreters for clubs is not restricted.

During the time between 9 A.M. of Sunday (May 30) and 12 A.M. of Monday (May 31) the assessment and display is open for visit. In addition to the static display, there will be a tea party (1 P.M.~4:30 P.M., Saturday), and exciting performances, provided by diverse clubs, at the Student Activities Center (11 A.M~3 P.M., Sunday).
