FRESH CORNER ART FESTIVAL: APRIL 18 - 19, POSTER STREET

Along with the fresh air of spring, Student Association will combine life with creation and hold Fresh Corner Art Festival on April 18 and 19 at Poster Street, with activities like creation market, celebrity speech, notebook DIY, and the performance of student clubs.

In recent years, the so-called “creation market,” which gathers students’ hand-made artifacts such as ornaments, earrings, post cards, clothes, dolls, and handbags, becomes a fashion all over the world. The creation market can inspire students’ creativity, making them experience life from different angles and hence discover the beauty and ingenuity from tiny places. On 7:00 p.m., April 19 at Poster Street, well-known iconographer Cola King is invited to give a talk, “Cola King’s Lesson on Creative Writing and Painting,” revealing some interesting elements and secrets of Cola King’s creating process.

In order to encourage students to participate in the art-creating activity, Student Association cooperates with “My Note,” a website of creative notebooks, mapping out a do-it-yourself area called “Scrawling, Notebook, and You.” Students can make use of all kinds of paintbrushes and materials on the spot to design their own creative notebook.

The sponsor will invite the students from Dept. of Architecture to arrange the fairground, with comfortable and relaxed spaces for the visitors. During the time of festival, some student clubs such as Guitar Club, Classic Guitar Club, String Orchestra Club, Guzheng Club, and Fantasy Club will present spectacular performances, too. Fang Po-hsun (sophomore, Dept. of Business Administration), the executive of the activity, said happily, “Welcome all the people come here to breath fresh air and spend two days of free and happy time in arts!” ( ~Shu-chun Yen )
