Dr. Clement C.P. Chang, Founder of Tamkang University, will attend a flag-presentation ceremony for junior students in the College of Foreign Languages and Literature who will study abroad for the next academic year. This ceremony will be held at 2:30 p.m., September 13 at the Taipei campus. Dr. Chang will offer his best wishes for these students hoping they open their eyes to the world and enjoy their study while staying abroad next year.
A total of 135 juniors will join the study abroad exchange programs this year. Students from English Department will attend Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Winona State University, Minnesota, and Brandon University, Canada. Spanish Department students will go to Navarra University, Spain. French Department students will participate in the program of the Franche-comte University, France. German Department students will attend courses at Bonn University. Students from the Japanese Department will study at Reitaku University, Josai University, Josai International University, and Kyoto Tachibana Josai Women's University. Russian Department students will attend St. Petersburg State University in Russia.
Dr. Flora C.I. Chang, Vice President for Administrative Affairs, will officiate at the flag-presentation ceremony, joined by a group of well-wishers, including many foreign deputy representatives in Taiwan. Former students who studied abroad will share their experience, and representative students and parents will also give speeches. Yen Ru-jen from Spanish Department, who has won the short-term study abroad scholarship, will receive the $15,000 N.T. cash prize at the ceremony.
