The Ministry of Education (MOE) has consigned the Management Science Association of the Republic of China (MSAROC) to make evaluation of Colleges of Business and of Management, Tamkang University (TKU). A big delegation organized by MSAROC will arrive in TKU on Thursday.
The purpose of the current evaluation project is to comprehend the educational plan and its implementation in the departments and graduate institutes under Colleges of Business and of Management of various universities in Taiwan. After visiting, the delegation will submit a reliable
report to MOE, who will offer the suggestion and the items to be improved in accordance with the report.
MOE will also encourage the university to develop its exclusive characteristics and promote the exchange of mutual interaction among universities so as to upgrade the quality and standard of management education.
Members of the delegation include Mo Tsung-chan, President of Shih Hsin University; Lin Tsung-ming, President of National Yunlin University of Science and Technology; Huang Ying-chung, Dean of Academic Affairs, National Central University (NCU); Chang Shih-chieh, Chair of Institute of Risk Management and Department of Insurance, National Chengchi University (NCCU); Lin Chu-chia, Department of Economics, NCCU; Profs. Hung Mao-wei , Hsu Chen-ming and Lin Yun of National Taiwan University (NTU), Profs. Sung Kai and Lin Ming-chieh of NCU, Prof. Chen Hsuen-yu of National Chengkung University (NCKU), Prof. Feng Cheng-min of National Chiao Tung University (NCTU), Prof. Chang Chin-yu of National Taipei University and several MOE’s officials.
In addition to visiting and evaluating TKU, they will also hold a symposium with representatives of TKU faculty and students.
TKU President Chang Horng-jinh will preside over a welcoming meeting and give a briefing on the current situation of Colleges of Business and of Management held at Chueh-sheng International Conference Hall at 9:30 am. Shiau Fung-shyung, Dean of College of Business, Chen Ting-ko, Dean of College of Management, and Chairs of Departments and Institutes under the two colleges, will accompany members of the delegation to visit Chueh-sheng Memorial Library, Carrie Chang Fine Arts Center, the Business Management Building, the Information Processing Center, Shao-Mo Natatorium Complex and Chueh Hsuan Garden.
In the afternoon, visitors will meet 15-25 ramdomly chosen student representatives and two faculty representatives.
Members of the delegation will exchange opinions on the advantages and disadvantages of TKU after evaluating and what are left to be improved. TKU President Chang will officiate at a general symposium with the presence of visitors, deans of Colleges and chairs of Departments and Institutes
