A Resolution Passed on October 9, on How Tamkang University Should Celebrate her 5lst Anniversary

A preparation meeting was called on October 9 to discuss how Tamkang University is to celebrate her 5lst birthday.

The meeting was presided over by Dr. Flora C.I. Chang, V.P. for Administrative Affairs. Also attending the meeting were all the directors from the senior-level offices.

A resolution was passed that all festivities will be conducted in a low-key manner as opposed to the high-geared way last year.

However, a “main beam erection” ceremony will be held on that day for the Shao Mo Memorial Swimming Gymnasium’; also, the ribbon-cutting inauguration for the Futures Studies Hall; and so will be the unveiling of the Twin Dolphin statue.

Obviously, November 8th is an auspicious day, because T.K.U. will tie a friendship knot with one of her sister schools, Warsaw University, Poland, on that day.

In addition to two academic conferences convened by the College of Education, there will be some athletic events, one called a Pom-pom Girls Contest featured by the Office of Physical Education, a basket-ball and a volley-ball tournament between freshmen, and a contest of bowling, badminton and table-tennis between faculty/staff teams. A soft ball tournament. Some track events, etc.
