Classes in Person for the Transnational Distance Executive Master’s Program, 9 Elite Politicians from Latin America come to the School

9 Latin American political elites, including the Director General of Foreign Policy of Directorate-General of Bilateral Relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Guatemala, Victor Humberto Ramirez Scaglia, came to Taiwan on March 5 to attend the in-person courses of the “E-Learning Executive Master’s Program in Asia-Pacific Studies” offered by the Department of Global Politics and Economics of Tamkang University. In addition to the courses and exchanges, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosted a luncheon, and TKU also held a welcome tea party to introduce our faculty and campus. After a week of in-person classes, a farewell banquet was held before they departed on the 11th.

A Forum for Students with Disabilities and Parents on Campus Affairs

On March 9, the Resource Center for the Visually Impaired held the forum for students with disabilities and their parents for the second semester of 2022 academic year in Ching Sheng International Conference Hall. The forum was hosted by the Center Director and Dean of Academic Affairs, Dr. Tzung-Ru Tsai. Dr. Tsai stated that Tamkang University has always placed great importance on students with disabilities and provided active counseling and assistance. If students or parents feel that there are areas that need to be strengthened or improved, the university will do its best to complete them.

President Keh Reiterated the 3 Major Focal Points for the Development of TKU at the 189th Administrative Meeting

The 189th Administrative Meeting was held on March 3 at the Ching Sheng International Conference Hall, presided over by President Huan-Chao Keh, with 3 vice presidents and first-level supervisors participating. The Taipei campus participated via synchronous video conference.

“Chasing the Light” Introduce Tamkang University to High School Students

On the afternoon of March 4, the Office of Academic Affairs held the “Chasing the Light – 2023 Tamkang University Department Expo” at the Hsu Shou-Chlien International Conference Center. Nearly 1,500 students, teachers, and parents participated. Tamkang’s 41 departments of 8 colleges spared no effort in presenting information on their features, curriculum, and future development. The event not only allowed first and second-year high school students to explore their interests and future development directions, but also deepened the impressions of third-year students and increased their willingness to enroll in the university.

Learning Innovation Achievement Exhibition Sharing Innovation Course Teaching Results

The Center for Sustainable Development and Social Innovation held the "Cultivating Sustainable Strength: Embarking on a New Journey of Humanities and Social Sciences Education - Learning Innovation Achievement Exhibition 2022" at the Black Swan Exhibition Room from March 1st to March 3rd. The opening ceremony was held at 12:00 pm on March 1st, and nearly 40 faculty members, staff, and students, including Vice President for Academic Affairs Hui-Huang Hsu, Vice President for Administrative Affairs Chun-Hung Lin, Vice President for International Affairs Hsiao-Chuan Chen, Secretary-General Ay-Hwa Liou, and first and second-level supervisors attended the event. The lobby of the building of Foreign Languages simultaneously exhibited the teaching achievements of the "Introduction to Western Literature" course offered by the Department of English.

Alumni Association of Northern California Held its Annual Meeting, Kitty Long Serve as the 33rd President

Tamkang University Alumni Association of Northern California held its 2023 annual meeting and president handover ceremony on the evening of February 25th, US time and the morning of February 26th, Taiwan time at the Overseas Community Affairs Council in the Bay Area of Northern California. The event was conducted both on-site and online, with more than 300 alumni in attendance. The 32nd president, Department of English alumna Madeleine Ke, handed over the position to the new president, Department of Education and Informational Technology (now Information and Library Science) alumna Kitty Long. The handover was supervised by the 2nd alumni association president, Song Chen.

University Expo: TKU Faculty and Students Warmly Welcome You to Join

On February 25th and 26th, the Center for Admission Strategy participated in the '2023 University and Technical and Vocational College Multi-Admissions Expo' held simultaneously on the 1st floor of the NTU Sports Center in Taipei City, the International Exhibition Hall in Taichung City, and the 10th floor of the New Kaohsiung Shih Kong Mitsukoshi Kaohsiung Zuoying. The expo attracted many high school students, teachers, and parents to visit and learn about university-related information, as well as to consult about further studies.

Starting March 6, the Indoor Mask-Wearing Requirement will be relaxed in Response to the Epidemic

In accordance with the revised "Guidelines for Preventing the Spread of Severe Special Infectious Pneumonia in Colleges and Universities" issued by the Ministry of Education (MOE) on February 21, Tamkang University has adjusted its teaching and class management measures starting from March 6th. The requirement for wearing masks in classrooms has been relaxed, and related measures will be adjusted on a rolling basis based on changes in the epidemic situation and in accordance with the latest regulations from MOE and the New Taipei City Government. Announcements will be made on the school's official website's "Epidemic Prevention and Notification Zone," official Facebook fan page, and IG account. All public areas of the buildings (including classrooms, meeting rooms, and teacher lounges on campus) will continue to be disinfected daily after all classes end, and additional cleaning and disinfection will be carried out as needed.
