Welcome Meeting for Overseas New Students: Diverse Introductions & Warm Reminders

On the morning of September 6th, the Office of International and Cross-Strait Affairs held the "Welcome Meeting for Overseas New Students for the Academic Year 2023" at the Chang Yeo Lan International Conference Hall, Hsu Shou-Chlien International Conference Center. Over 350 overseas students from all around the world attended the event.

Class 2027: New Student Exclusive Digital Promotional Platform

The Center for Distance Education Development has tailored a digital promotional platform called "Class 2027 Fresh Information" (URL: https://tku365.sharepoint.com/sites/2023ipcFreshman) specifically for the new students using MS 365's SharePoint. It provides continuously updated and rolling notifications about the latest information technology updates. New students can log in to this platform using their MS 365 accounts, which are in the format "StudentID@o365.tku.edu.tw." For the first login, the default password is "Tku+YYYYMMDD," where "YYYYMMDD" represents the student's Western birthdate (11 digits). This platform serves as an informative and welcoming hub for new students.

New Student & Parent Orientation Meeting to Help Familiarize with Campus Life

On September 2nd, the Office of Student Affairs held a "New Student and Parent Orientation Meeting" on the 7th floor of the Shao-Mo Memorial Gymnasium. The meeting was presided over by President Huan-Chao Keh and attended by Academic Vice President Hui-Huang Hsu, Administrative Vice President Chun-Hung Lin, Vice President for International Affairs Hsiao-Chuan CHen, deans of various colleges, and first- and second-level supervisors of relevant units. Nearly 700 students and parents participated, and through face-to-face interactions, the event aimed to help new students better understand campus life.

Chemical & Materials Engineering Dept. Explore Industry-Academia Collaboration with Senergy on Carbon Credit Trading

On August 28th, the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering signed an industry-academia collaboration agreement with Skwentex Energy Corp. (Senergy). Senergy generously provided NT$ 1 million in funding for a joint research project titled "Exploring Corporate Responses to the Initiation of Carbon Trading in Taiwan." The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Cheng-Lan Lin, chair of the department at our university, and Mr. Jeffrey Chung, President of Senergy. Chairman Andy Chen of Senergy also graced the event with his presence. The seminar included participation from Distinguished Professor Chii-Dong Ho, Professor Trong-Ming Don, Professor Chao-Tsai Huang, and Associate Professor Yi-Wun Wang.

Similar Ideology Brings Strategic Alliance; TKU & Pay Fong Expect for a Win-Win Collaboration

On August 28th, our university and Pay Fong Middle School Malacca, Malaysia, held a "Strategic Alliance Joint Signing Ceremony" in the Chueh-Sheng International Conference Hall. The ceremony was presided over by President Huan-Chao Keh, attended by Vice President for Academic Affairs Hui-Huang Hsu, Vice President for International Affairs Hsiao-Chuan Chen, Secretary-General Ay-Hwa Andy Liou, first- and second-level supervisors of academic units, and representatives from Pay Fong Middle School, including Principal Shelley Ng. Approximately 100 people, including relevant colleagues and students, participated in the event, and the strategic alliance was officially signed by the two school principals.

「AI+SDGs=∞」Becomes A Tamkang Registered Trademark

Starting from August 1, 2023, "AI+SDGs=∞" has officially been certified by the Intellectual Property Office of the Ministry of Economic Affairs as an registered trademark of Tamkang University. President Huan-Chao Keh stated that in 2021, our university formally adopted "AI+SDGs=∞" as our vision for school development. Over the past two years, with the dedicated efforts of our colleagues, it has gradually integrated into various aspects of teaching and administration, yielding many outstanding results. We hope that everyone will continue to work hard to help Tamkang University 'Transcend the Present and Co-create the Future.'"
