Joint Unveiling of the Research Centers of Business and Management College: Chairperson Flora Chia-I Chang Encourages the Enhancement of Teaching and Research Capabilities
On December 18, the College of Business and Management held a joint unveiling ceremony for the Research Centers in B302B and B302F of the Business Building. Dean Li-Ren Yang explained that due to the dispersion of various research centers and the responsible faculty members across different floors of the Business Building, the shared sign has been placed at the entrance of B302F. Hon. Dr. Joseph Wang, Trustee of our university, was invited to serve as the chief advisor for the 11 research centers. Chairperson Flora Chia-I Chang, President Huan-Chao Keh, TKU Worldwide Alumni Association President Dennis Chen, Alumni Association Chief Advisor Lawrence Lin, TKU Alumni Association Headquarters of Departments President Tzu-Hwa Chuang, and the 3 Vice Presidents, Dr. Hui-Huang Hsu, Dr. Chun-Hung Lin, and Dr. Hsiao-Chuan Chen, were all present to witness and participate in the grand unveiling ceremony.
紹新講堂Unveiled at B302B with Joint Donations from Alumni Including Joseph Wang
The Department of Business Administration gathered more than 10 alumni to collectively donate around NT$4 million for the redesign and renovation of room B302B at the Business Building. In recognition of the generous donation, the department established the “紹新講堂” named after Joseph Wang, an honorary doctorate recipient and the chairman of SINBON Electronics Co., Ltd. who also serves as a director of the university. On December 18, an unveiling ceremony was held with the participation of Lawrence Lin, chairman and general consultant of the TKU Alumni Association, Academic Vice President Hsu Hui-Huang, and Dean of the College of Business and Management Li-Ren Yang. The four characters of “紹新講堂” were personally handwritten by Hon. Dr. Wang in running hand script, while the name of the department was inscribed on the opposite wall by the Chair of the Department of Business Administration, Dr. Yong-Sheng Chang, creating a complementary and harmonious display.
Chairperson Chang Donates Books to 3 Schools, Continuing to Root in Gender Equality Education
Chairperson Flora Chia-I Chang, driven by the mission to promote gender equality, has, in recent years, shown appreciation for the dedication and contributions of Dr. Chia-Li Wu, a pioneer in the women's rights movement and gender equality education. In a special collaboration with Fembooks, she sponsors the "Campus Good Books Love Reading - Gender-Friendly Dandelion Project," donating NT$50,000 to each school at various levels. This contribution is aimed at purchasing gender-related educational books from Fembooks to strengthen relevant education. Recently, donations have been made to 3 schools in Yilan County and Taipei City, in addition to a previous donation to schools in New Taipei City, successfully completing the puzzle in the 3 locations where our school campuses are situated.
Dragon Soars above Tamkang Art Exhibition - Diverse Auspicious Dragons Greet the New Year
As the Year of the Dragon approaches, the Carrie Chang Fine Arts Center, led by Director Ben-Hang Chang and resident artists Jin-Ta Yuan and Zhen Shen, collaboratively organized the "Dragon Soars above Tamkang - 2024 Welcoming the Dragon Art Exhibition." Inviting over 40 artists to creatively depict the image of the dragon, the exhibition encompasses various art forms such as calligraphy, AI, e-pen, cochin ware, and a mix of traditional and contemporary paintings. Additionally, they called for chibi-styled dragon artworks from the entire school community, creating a collaborative art feast to welcome the new year. The opening ceremony took place on December 26, 2023, with the presence of President Huan-Chao Keh, Dean of the College of Education Kuo-Hua Chen, and History Department Chair Shang-Wen Kao.

Faculty, Students, and Alumni of the Physics Department Celebrate its 60th Anniversary, with Outstanding Alumni Making Significant Contributions across Industry, Government, and Academia
"Tamkang Physics - Journeying Again for Thousands of Miles": On December 24, 2023, the Department of Physics held its 60th-anniversary celebration at the Liu-Hsien Memorial Science Hall, including events in the lobby and classrooms on the 1st floor. Current faculty, retired teachers, past teaching assistants, staff, and alumni were invited to participate in the celebration and banquet. The Physics Alumni Association also conducted elections during the event, with Jian-Bang Lee, Special Assistant to the Chairman of Revlis Biotech Company Limited, elected as the new president of the association. He stated, "Despite a busy schedule, I am very willing to assist in the operations of the alumni association. I will continue to collaborate with Chair Cheng-Hao Chuang to bring new initiatives to Tamkang Physics."
