The event aimed to enhance international students’ Chinese language proficiency while deepening their understanding of Chinese culture and Taiwanese customs. In the end, the Reading Competition was won by Jessica Rini Harianto and Natanya Ezraela Vonck Roos, while the Speech Competition champion was Asami Kura.

Tamkang University Hosts Study-in-Germany Seminar to Help Students with Disabilities Explore Overseas Education Opportunities
The Special Education Resource Center at Tamkang University invited Finnja Lüttmann to introduce the support systems and resources available for students with disabilities at German universities.

The Resource Center of Special Education at Tamkang University held a special education awareness seminar at 6:00 p.m. on May 6 in Conference Room B302A. The event featured Finnja Lüttmann, currently a teacher at Taipei European School and formerly an accessibility and interpretation specialist at the Disability and Studies Division (DoBuS) of TU Dortmund University. Her presentation, titled “A Guide to Studying in Germany for Students with Disabilities: The Support System at TU Dortmund University as a Case Study,” introduced the support services and operational practices available to students with disabilities in Germany, helping participants better understand the German higher education system and study-abroad environment. A total of 15 students attended the seminar.

Against a backdrop of intensifying global competition, management quality has increasingly been recognized as a key determinant of national productivity. On the afternoon of April 16, M. Ali Choudhary, Professor of Economics and Public Policy and Head of the Economics Academic Group at Loughborough University Business School, was invited by the Department of Economics at Tamkang University to deliver a lecture titled “Management and Conflict” at the Hsu Shou-Chlien International Conference Center. Drawing on empirical research, he examined the impact of terrorism on business management and economic performance. The event attracted 55 faculty members and students.

A total of 68 faculty members, students, and parents participated virtually on April 25 at 9:30 a.m. During the event, faculty advisors from various departments addressed parents’ concerns regarding visas, accommodation, and other overseas study matters through group discussions, providing practical guidance and recommendations. In his presentation, Dean of International Affairs and Convener of the Junior Year Abroad Advisory Group, Professor Chien-Mu Yeh, reassured parents by stating, “The university will continue to work alongside parents as a pair of invisible wings, accompanying students as they spread their wings to the world and pursue their dreams.”

The Department of Accounting at Tamkang University continues to promote the integration of AI into its curriculum, with students achieving outstanding results in professional certification examinations. During the first semester of the 2025 academic year, 14 students passed the Jacksoft Certified CAATs Practitioner AI (JCCP) certification. Among them, Yun-Ju Weng and Yu-Tzu Lin ranked within the top 3% nationwide, demonstrating the department’s success in cultivating talent in digital auditing and AI applications.

The 2026 National Intercollegiate Athletic Games (NIAG) officially opened on May 2 at National Central University. A delegation from Tamkang University, led by President Huan-Chao Keh, entered the opening ceremony venue alongside coaches and student-athletes. In addition to expressing support and encouragement for the competing teams, President Keh wished the athletes success in achieving outstanding results. This year, Tamkang University fielded 11 teams and ultimately secured an impressive total of 3 gold, 9 silver, and 8 bronze medals.

The ceremony was attended by Vice President for International Affairs Hsiao-Chuan Chen; Chien-Hsiang Lin, Chairman of Grand Dynasty Industrial and President of the Tamkang University Golden Eagle Club; Tzu-Hua Chuang, Chairman of Longyuan Holding and President of the Tamkang University Alumni Association Headquarters; as well as deans, department chairs, and administrators from the recipients’ respective colleges and departments. Together, they witnessed this important milestone in the students’ academic journeys in a warm and celebratory atmosphere.

The event showcased the university’s concrete achievements in digital transformation and academic research, attracting nearly 80 representatives from academia, industry, and government, including the university’s three vice presidents.

The second-stage interviews for the 2026 academic year university admissions process were held from May 15 to 17 at the Tamsui Campus of Tamkang University, welcoming 5,909 applicants competing for admission to 52 departments and programs. To facilitate transportation, the Office of General Affairs temporarily opened campus sidewalks and designated parking spaces for short-term parking. At the same time, the Office of Academic Affairs arranged staff members in vests to guide students and parents to the interview venues.

Tamkang University held the inauguration ceremony of the “Visionary Insights & Global Integration” (VIGI) Alumni Association and the first graduation ceremony on May 14 at Palais de Chine Hotel. A total of 41 business leaders from sectors including technology, energy, construction, finance, biomedical science, food and beverage, and marketing completed the nine-month program. During the event, the VIGI Alumni Association was officially established, with class representative Tiao-Tsan Lai, General Manager of New Asia Construction & Development Corp., serving as its first president.
