Office of Student Affairs Leads Students on Gongliao Field Trip to Experience Local Culture and Explore Regional Revitalization
Tamkang University’s Office of Student Affairs organized a regional revitalization exploration program, with a local ama diver guiding participants through the intertidal zone to experience the area’s marine ecology.

Tamkang University’s Office of Student Affairs organized two regional revitalization exploration programs, titled “Gongliao Life Beyond the City,” on May 30 and July 24–25. More than 30 local and international students were taken on immersive visits to the Aodi fishing village and Jimuling community in Gongliao District, New Taipei City. Through ecological exploration, food and agricultural education, and regional revitalization activities, participants learned about Gongliao’s distinctive mountain and coastal culture while experiencing firsthand the diverse values of local sustainable development.

Aerospace Engineering’s Stargazer Rocket Successfully Launched in Special Finale at Taiwan Cup Rocket Competition

On August 2, Tamkang University’s Department of Aerospace Engineering successfully launched the university’s fifth rocket, Stargazer, at the Xuhai Rocket Launch Site. The team was invited to conduct a special demonstration launch at the Taiwan Space Agency’s (TASA) Taiwan Cup Rocket Competition, while also using the mission to pave the way for the development of a staged rocket next year.

30 Faculty Members Earn AI Project Application Certification After Completing Intensive Summer Training
After passing both the written and practical assessments, all participating faculty members earned the AIPA-A “AI Project Application Specialist” professional certification, valid for three years.

To usher in a new era of AI-enhanced teaching, Tamkang University’s Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering held the “AI Project Application Train-the-Trainer Program” on July 6–7 in Computer Lab E213 of the Engineering Building. Despite the summer heat, the program attracted enthusiastic participation from faculty members across the university, with all 30 faculty members who completed the entire program receiving certificates.

A faculty-student team led by Professor Yi-Ren Wang of Tamkang University’s Department of Aerospace Engineering recently competed in the 2026 Green Idea Invention and Design Fair, held at Cheng Shiu University in Kaohsiung. Their project, “AI-Optimized Acoustic Black Hole Device for Vibration Reduction and Piezoelectric Energy Harvesting,” stood out among 193 competing teams and won the event’s highest honor, the Platinum Award, marking the team’s second consecutive victory.

In Global Views Monthly’s 2026 Taiwan Best Universities Rankings, Tamkang University ranked No. 1 among private universities in the peer assessment for Business and Management.

On July 2, Global Views Monthly announced its 2026 Taiwan Best Universities Rankings. In the university peer assessment, Tamkang University ranked 11th nationwide in Business and Management and No. 1 among private universities, reflecting the strong recognition it has earned among senior administrators at universities across Taiwan. Among the rankings’ six major dimensions, Tamkang placed 8th nationwide and 2nd among private universities in internationalization.

The robotics R&D team jointly formed by Tamkang University’s Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Department of Artificial Intelligence delivered an outstanding performance at the 2026 FIRA RoboWorld Cup and Summit, held in Toronto, Canada, from July 17 to 21. Competing in the HuroCup, the team captured eight championship titles, with both its adult-sized and kid-sized humanoid robots winning the All-Round Championship. The Kid Size team, in particular, secured its 15th All-Round Championship, setting another milestone for Tamkang.

Tamkang University and Deloitte Sign MOU to Cultivate Talent in AI, Sustainability, and Digital Transformation
Tamkang University’s partnership with Deloitte completes the final piece of its collaboration network with all four of the world’s Big Four accounting firms.

Following the announcement of strategic partnerships with Microsoft Taiwan, AMD, Far EasTone Telecommunications, and three of the Big Four accounting firms—PwC, EY, and KPMG—Tamkang University signed an MOU on industry-academia collaboration with Deloitte Consulting in July. Building on an industry-academia R&D partnership, the two sides will integrate academic research, industry expertise, and technological resources to advance collaboration in AI solutions, talent development, joint research and development, sustainability, and other areas, further strengthening the connection between academic research outcomes and industrial innovation.

Tamkang University continues to earn widespread recognition for the quality of its education and institutional governance. Following the university’s receipt of the Best Chinese Quality Culture Award (Organization Award) from the World Alliance for Chinese Quality in 2025, Chairperson Flora Chia-I Chang was honored this year with the Chinese Quality Culture Promoter Award (Individual Award). Accompanied by Chief Audit Executive Jyh-Jiuan Lin, Chairperson Chang attended the 11th World Summit for Chinese Quality, held at Hong Kong Polytechnic University on August 6–7, where she received the award and delivered a keynote speech titled “Advancing Technology through Intelligence and Shaping the Future through Quality.” In her address, she shared Tamkang University’s more than three decades of experience in promoting Total Quality Management (TQM) and explained how quality governance continues to evolve toward a smarter and more sustainable future.

Tamkang University achieved full enrollment in the 2026–2027 university placement admissions, welcoming Taiwan’s largest incoming class for the second consecutive year.

With the release of the 2026–2027 university placement admission results, Tamkang University once again achieved full enrollment, welcoming 4,322 first-year students—the largest incoming class in Taiwan. Despite the challenges posed by the declining birth rate, Tamkang has maintained strong enrollment performance. President Hui-Huang Hsu extended a warm welcome to the new students and pledged to work alongside all faculty and staff to further advance teaching innovation, strengthen international connections, promote the development of a smart campus, and pursue sustainability. Through these efforts, the university aims to create a more forward-looking and competitive learning environment where every Tamkang student can learn with confidence and thrive.

Tamkang University held its Inauguration and Handover Ceremony for the 14th President, and the 2026–2027 Academic Year Appointment Announcement and Administrative Leadership Handover Ceremony, at 10:00 a.m. on July 30 in the Chueh-sheng International Conference Hall. In addition to the inauguration and presidential handover, appointments were announced for two units, while leadership handovers were conducted for nine first-level and 16 second-level administrative units. Chairperson Flora Chia-I Chang, outgoing President Huan-Chao Keh, incoming President Hui-Huang Hsu, vice presidents, heads of first- and second-level units, and more than 100 faculty and staff members attended the ceremonies.
