President Keh Presents Flags to 11 Summer Service Teams, Urging Students to Learn by Doing and Promote the Common Good

The Extracurricular Activities Guidance Section of Tamkang University held the 2025 Summer Service-Learning Team Flag Presentation Ceremony at 10:00 a.m. on July 1 in the Student Activity Center. The event was attended by President Huan-Chao Keh, Vice President for Administrative Affairs Chun-Hung Lin, Vice President for International Affairs Hsiao-Chuan Chen, as well as deans, directors, and senior administrators from across the University. This year, 11 service teams comprising nearly 110 students will participate in community service activities. Among them, eight teams, including the Taekwondo Club, Computer Hardware Study Club, and Tamkang Rotaract Club, will organize service camps throughout Taiwan. Meanwhile, the GSIP Global Service Internship Team from the Department of Global Politics and Economics, the Cambodia Service-Learning Team organized by the Extracurricular Activities Guidance Section, and the "Econ Explorer" team from the Department of Economics will undertake international volunteer service projects in Malaysia and Thailand, Cambodia, and Sri Lanka, respectively.

The Gender Equity Education Committee of Tamkang University held a Gender Mainstreaming Lecture, titled "Recent Trends in Gender Mainstreaming in the International Community," at 12:00 noon on June 23 in HC305 of the Hsu Shou-Chlien International Conference Center. Professor Der-Lan Yeh, Director of the Center for Population and Gender Studies at National Taiwan University and Principal Investigator of the Ministry of Education's Phase I Higher Education Gender Mainstreaming Guidance Project, was invited to deliver the keynote address. Her lecture examined the latest international developments in gender mainstreaming and explored how these concepts can be translated into systematic, methodology-based implementation strategies within higher education. The event was attended by President Huan-Chao Keh, Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs Hui-Huang Hsu, Executive Vice President for Administrative Affairs Chun-Hung Lin, and senior University administrators.

The Intelligent Automation and Robotics Center of Tamkang University, in collaboration with Prefactor Tech, has been selected for the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) and NVIDIA's Taipei-1 OVX Computing Power Program (5th Call for Proposals). Leveraging the computational capabilities of the Taipei-1 AI supercomputer, the team will carry out the project, "Resilience Verification of AI-Driven AMR Dispatching Decisions in a Digital Twin Hospital Environment." Tamkang University is the only private university selected for an OVX computing project in this funding round, joining leading research teams from organizations such as the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) and National Tsing Hua University.

Tamkang University’s New Cybersecurity Program Delivers Strong Results, Set to Expand Talent Development
The Information Management Department at Tamkang University, in collaboration with FET and ISSDU, launched the New Information Security Program. To address the growing cybersecurity challenges brought about by artificial intelligence and digital transformation, Tamkang University's Department of Information Management, in collaboration with Far EasTone Telecommunications (FETnet) and Information Security Service Digital United (ISSDU), has launched the practice-oriented New Information Security Program. After three years of development, the program has established a comprehensive teaching framework that integrates industry co-teaching, hands-on training platforms, corporate visits, and talent cultivation, creating a cybersecurity education model that combines academic rigor with practical experience. Beginning in the 2026 academic year, the program will be expanded from an elective within the Department of Information Management to a college-wide elective offered by the College of Business and Management, allowing students from across the college to enroll. Enrollment is expected to increase from approximately 70 to 120 students, cultivating a larger pool of interdisciplinary talent equipped with cybersecurity expertise.

Tamkang Chemistry Tops Global Rankings for Top 1% Highly Cited Papers in U.S. News & World Report
The research achievements of Tamkang University's Chemistry faculty have earned international recognition, with the department ranking No. 1 worldwide in the Top 1% Highly Cited Papers indicator in the U.S. News & World Report global university rankings.

U.S. News & World Report, the first U.S. publication to introduce a global university ranking, released its 2026–2027 Best Global Universities Rankings on June 16. Tamkang University ranked first among Taiwan’s private non-medical universities. In the subject rankings, both Chemistry and Engineering were listed, with Chemistry drawing particular attention by ranking No. 1 worldwide in the Percentage of Highly Cited Papers Among the Top 1% Most Cited indicator under academic excellence.

The Office of International and Cross-Strait Affairs at Tamkang University held the 2026 Study Abroad Flag Presentation Ceremony at 2:30 p.m. on June 30 in the Student Activity Center. During the 2026–2027 academic year, 277 students will study abroad at 92 sister and partner universities across 21 countries. The ceremony was attended by President Huan-Chao Keh, the University's three vice presidents, numerous academic and administrative leaders, 149 outgoing exchange students, and nearly 70 parents and family members. Distinguished guests included Kouta Ouchi, Director of the Press and Culture Department of the Japan–Taiwan Exchange Association; Airy QUILLERÉ, Higher Education Cooperation Officer at the French Office in Taipei; and Kirill BELIAEV, Special Assistant to the Representative of the Moscow–Taipei Coordination Commission on Economic and Cultural Cooperation, all of whom offered their congratulations and best wishes to the students embarking on their international journeys.

The Office of Information Services at Tamkang University hosted the 2026 Tamkang University Academic and Administrative Units Digital Transformation and Sustainability Transformation Showcase at 10:00 a.m. on June 17 in the Student Activity Center on the Tamsui Campus. The event brought together academic and administrative units from across the University to share their achievements in digital and sustainability transformation. Through cross-unit exchanges and peer learning, participants showcased innovative practices and demonstrated the University's progress toward its All-Cloud Smart Campus 3.0 initiative.

Tamkang University Reaches New Heights, Teaching Practice Research Projects Approvals Lead Comprehensive Universities for Fourth Straight Year
Tamkang University had a record-high 69 Teaching Practice Research Projects approved for 2026, ranking first among Taiwan’s comprehensive universities for the fourth consecutive year.

Like climbing Tamkang University's iconic Overcoming Difficulties Slope, a shared memory for generations of Tamkang students, the University has reached another milestone in teaching innovation. According to the Ministry of Education's review results announced on June 26, Tamkang University had 69 Teaching Practice Research Projects approved for the 2026 academic year, setting a new institutional record and ranking first among Taiwan's comprehensive universities for the fourth consecutive year. Of these, 35 projects focus on AI-Empowered Teaching and Human–AI Collaboration, accounting for more than half of the total approved projects and demonstrating the University's continued success in integrating artificial intelligence into teaching. The Office of Physical Education once again ranked first nationwide in its field with eight approved projects, while Professor Chih-Lin Chung of the Department of Transportation Management achieved an unprecedented milestone by securing funding for the ninth consecutive year.

Tamkang University Board Appoints Hui-Huang Hsu as President and Names Sun-Lu Fan as New Trustee
The Tamkang University Board of Trustees has appointed Prof. Hui-Huang Hsu, currently Academic Vice President, as the University's 14th President.

President Huan-Chao Keh will complete his term on July 31, 2026. At its 9th meeting of the 14th Board of Trustees, held on the Taipei Campus on June 24, the Board voted to appoint Professor Hui-Huang Hsu, currently Vice President for Academic Affairs, as the 14th President of Tamkang University. The Board also completed the election of the 15th Board of Trustees, selecting nine trustees, including Chairperson Flora Chia-I Chang.
