The Office of Information Services at Tamkang University hosted the 2026 Tamkang University Academic and Administrative Units Digital Transformation and Sustainability Transformation Showcase at 10:00 a.m. on June 17 in the Student Activity Center on the Tamsui Campus. The event brought together academic and administrative units from across the University to share their achievements in digital and sustainability transformation. Through cross-unit exchanges and peer learning, participants showcased innovative practices and demonstrated the University's progress toward its All-Cloud Smart Campus 3.0 initiative.
This year's showcase adopted a collaborative exhibition format in which first-level units led their affiliated second-level units. Through poster presentations and on-site discussions, participating units shared practical experiences in applying AI tools and digital technologies to teaching, research, administration, and campus services. The exhibits featured a wide range of innovations, including paperless operations, workflow automation, cloud collaboration, data-driven decision-making, and energy conservation and carbon reduction, reflecting the University's strategic visions of "AI+SDGs=∞" and "ESG+AI=∞."
In his opening remarks, President Huan-Chao Keh emphasized that digital transformation and sustainability transformation have become defining characteristics of Tamkang University. Since launching its AI transformation initiative in 2019 and its sustainability transformation strategy in 2020, the University has established the College of Artificial Innovative Intelligence and the Department of Artificial Intelligence, integrating AI technologies and sustainability concepts into both curriculum design and administrative operations. These efforts have culminated in the development of an All-Cloud Smart Campus. President Keh noted that digital transformation has not only improved administrative efficiency but has also significantly shortened processing times for many administrative procedures, saving time and labor while reducing paper consumption and enhancing overall satisfaction among faculty, staff, and students. He also expressed his appreciation to Microsoft Taiwan and FETnet for their long-term support in advancing the University's All-Cloud Smart Campus 3.0 initiative.
Among the distinguished guests, Hung-I Yeh, President of MacKay Medical University, praised Tamkang University's achievements in AI applications and digital governance, expressing hope that similar practices could be adopted in medical education and university administration. Peter Hu, Executive Vice President of Information and Digital Transformation Technology at FETnet, noted that the partnership continues to deepen cooperation in AI-enabled academic administration, sustainability governance, and talent development, while jointly promoting the construction of a campus data platform to support data-driven decision-making. Danny Chen, General Manager of the Public Sector Business Group at Microsoft Taiwan, commended Tamkang University for its leadership in digital and sustainability transformation, noting that the University has not only articulated a clear strategic vision but has also successfully implemented it across campus.
The showcase featured numerous examples of AI and digital technology applications. The Chueh-Sheng Memorial Library demonstrated how AI has been used to digitize Tomorrow World, a magazine founded in 1975 by the University's founder, Dr. Clement C. P. Chang, preserving and revitalizing its visionary content for the digital age. The library also employed AI tools such as NotebookLM to produce multilingual introductions and video presentations. To further improve operational efficiency, the library developed an AI-powered digital assistant named "Cataloging Gege", which assists librarians with subject analysis and cataloging, reducing processing time by approximately 15 minutes per record and illustrating how AI can enhance professional library services.
The College of Engineering showcased its achievements in automating administrative workflows through the development of a one-stop service platform built on SharePoint cloud technology. The platform integrates oral examination applications, procedural guidelines, and related regulations into a single online portal, providing 24/7 access for users. The system has expanded service availability by 4.2 times, reduced administrative workload by approximately 50%, and eliminated the use of more than 500 sheets of A4 paper annually.
The Office of Research and Development presented its Industry–Academia Cloud Matching Platform, which integrates Microsoft 365 and AI technologies to connect faculty expertise, patent applications, National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) projects, industry–academia collaborations, and corporate needs. By leveraging Power BI and AI assistants for intelligent analysis and matchmaking, the platform overcomes fragmented information management, shortens processing time by approximately 95%, and significantly improves both administrative decision-making and the efficiency of industry–academia collaboration.
The event also featured an awards ceremony recognizing outstanding achievements. The Poster Showcase Popularity Award was presented to the College of Business and Management, the Office of Academic Affairs, and the Office of Information Technology. In addition, outstanding teams from the 2026 Tamkang Microsoft Agentic AI Copilot Hackathon were honored for developing innovative applications using Agentic AI and Microsoft Copilot technologies. In the General Division, "Tuition Intelligence Master" (《學雜智多星》) received the Outstanding Award, while "Smart R&D"(《智慧研發》) and "Course Registration Night Owl Guardian" (《選課夜貓守護者》) received Excellence Awards. In the Student Division, "Synergy Pilot" won the Outstanding Award, and "Fat Whale Express" (《胖鯨魚快遞》) and "Passing Down Books Across Generations" (《一書傳三代，人走書還在》) received Excellence Awards.
