A Triple Triumph for Tamkang
Students from Team 2 (Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering) take first place in the same competition category two years in a row.

On November 10, 2012, six TKU teams entered the finals of the 17th International ICT Innovative Services Contest. In Taiwan the contest is known as the “Olympics of information management”, as it draws hundreds of outstanding college students in information-related courses from around Taiwan.

An Initiative to Enhance the Quality of Chinese Instruction

TKU’s College of Foreign Languages and Literatures recently concluded a cooperative agreement with local IT solutions company, Technical Seed Co. Ltd. The agreement will establish a new online college to assist current or aspiring teachers of Mandarin Chinese.

Administrative Seminars for Zhejiang University Delegates

From November 11-14, Tamkang University has been hosting a delegation from one of Mainland China’s premier universities, Zhejiang University. The delegation has been led by the Dean of the College of Agriculture and Biotechnology, Zhejiang University, and is made up of 15 representatives from Zhejiang University administrative departments.

The 2012 International Forum on CCI

On November 22 and 24, TKU will hold the 2012 International Forum on Culture and Creative Industries. The event has been organized jointly by the TKU Innovative Center for Cultural and Creative Industries, the Department of Information and Communication, and the Department of Mass Communication.

Nurturing Leadership in Today’s Youth

In October 2012, the Chair of the TKU Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering, Dr. Lin Gwo-Geng, led 23 Tamkang students to Tianjin, China, to take part in the 2012 Cross-Strait Youth Leadership Forum.

TKU Displays Outstanding Service

The TKU Office of Military Education and Training was recently recognized for its efforts in providing rental accommodation services for TKU students. It won the 2012 Outstanding Student Accommodation Service Award, presented by the ROC Ministry of Education. In addition, Military Instructor Chien Wei-Heng was selected as one of just nine instructors in Taiwan to receive an “Outstanding Individual Award”.
