The TKU Cloudweb is Now Available for Teachers and Students

TKU’s Cloudweb will provide the newest technology resources available to teachers and students for easy access. It is a system that will be open 24/7 without any time or address restrictions. If someone is able to access their laptop or smartphone, they will have access to this convenient informational resource.

TKU Employees Offer Curriculum to Be Certified for BS 10012

【Reported by Yi-feng Lu, Tamkang Times】Tamkang University has officially implemented the Personal Information Protection Act for certification training courses. Now recently hired employees will be able to obtain this BS 10012 personal information management certification that will cultivate the knowledge of workers at Tamkang University. This certification assures that employees at TKU are aware of the privacy laws that are necessary when storing and sending sensitive data for students or other staff. Currently there are already 26 secretaries and 12 other employees that have already attained this license.

The College of Business and Management Offers AACSB Certification Starting in 2014

【Reported by Xue-yi Wu, Tamkang Times 】The College of Business and Management held a meeting in the Chueh-sheng International Conference Hall. In attendance was Dean of the College of Business and Management, Chien-liang Chiu, Executive Director of the Office of AACSB Certifications, Ku-jun Lin, and department heads of various departments. The College of Business and Management has designed two communication courses: Financial Market Practical Discussion and Financial Market Tendency Discussion Course. The Financial Market Practical Discussion will be taught in the first semester and the Financial Market Tendency Discussion course will be taught in the second semester. On October second special guests will be called to give lectures on these two specialized courses. Chien-liang Chiu stated, “This is an excellent industry-academic cooperation. President Chang has really worked hard at supporting this program.”

9 Model Courses Are Implemented to Improve Service Study Skills

【Reported by Jia-fu Gao, Jing Zhuang, Tamkang Times】For the year 2013 the Professional Knowledge and Service Study Curriculum has been created which has added 48 courses to the core curriculum including Forest Ecological Studies and Ecosystems Structure. The courses were all immediately packed. Third year student of the Chinese Department Yu-ting Chen, stated, Initially I wanted to take the class because of my classmates, but when I began learning it really pulled in my interests. The style of the course is so different than any of the other courses that I have taken. The professors are so incredibly thorough and clear at delivering the information that it makes learning feel like second nature. It’s really made a deep impact on me.”
