28 Alumni are Recognized for Excellent Contributions. TKU Alumni Awarded Golden Horse for Best Actress.

【Reported by Yu-xuan Zhou, Xin-yu Wang, Tamkang Times】On October 4th Tamkang University held the “Annual Gathering for Alumni of Tamkang University Taiwan” and handed out awards for esteemed alumni, honoring their magnificent contributions. This is the first time in 9 years to present awards during the assembly. Alumni that were recognized in this event include Shi-bo Zhang, Yong-qin Xu, Ming-yang Gao, Zhong-qin Xu, Wen-he Chen, Ruo-ming Xu, Yan-yan Qiu, Wei-yong Chen, Zeng-yao Gao, Ming-ren Wang, Xiao-rong Lin, Qin-cai Chen, Ya-shu Hong, Zi-jing Liu, Wei-tang Peng, Bo-shu Lin, Li-zhu Ye, Hong-jin Zhou, Zong-qin Chen, Feng-xiang Li, Shu-lin Qiu, Shun-min Wang, Meng-ji Xu, Cai-lie Yang, Hua-long Huang, Xian-yu Zhuang, and Bing-xi Zhang. Executive Director of the Office of Alumni Services and Resources Development, Chun-young Perng, stated, “Today is a great day. 【Reported by Yu-xuan Zhou, Tamkang Times】The 138th Administration meeting took place in the Chueh-sheng International Conference Hall on October 3rd. President Flora Chia-I Chang hosted the event as she welcomed the new administrators. She then detailed the development plan for TKU from 2014-2016 using the principle of the three cycles of education. Afterwards the president described her recent visit to Hong kong and Korea to visit sister academic institutions for the purposes of future exchanges and development.

Chemistry Department Alumni are Honored with Awards

【Reported by Yi-mei Chen, Tamkang Times】This year recent graduates from the Department of Chemistry, Yan-shao Lu and Xiang-feng Xie participated in the competition held by the Taiwan Institute of Chemical Engineers titled, “Annual 2014 University Procedural Design Competition” and won 1st place receiving 50,000 NT. Zhi-xing Wang and Wen Lin, alumni of the Chemistry Department, won 3rd place and were awarded 10,000 NT dollars. Their honorable peformance is an indicator of the effectiveness of the Chemistry program at TKU.

The EMBA Program Enrolls 15 New Students

【Reported by Ya-xuan Ji, Tamkang Times 】The third year of E-Learning Executive Master's Program of Business Administration (EMBA) in Global Chinese Management, has 15 new students and 11 second year students, adding to a total of 26 members. During the first week of the semester, the 15 new students came to register for their courses. The students travelled from areas all over Latin America including Guatemala, Honduras, the Dominican Republic, Paraguay, Argentina, Ecuador and Mexico.
