VOLLEYBALL TEAM OF HISTORY DEPARTMENT WINS GOLD

TKU Department of History delivered an impressive performance at the 33rd Collegiate History Cup that was held a week ago. Its men’s volleyball team won the championship, with one of its team members, Meng Hsiang Ting, a senior, being crowned as the Most Valuable Player of the Year. The women’s volleyball team and men’s basketball team also did well by winning the second place in their respective category.

Yeh Chen Jay, a senior and the captain of the men’s volleyball team, is particular pleased with this year’s medal as it is his last, at least, at college. As for women’s volleyball team, despite having won the silver, it still delivered a top-notch performance with their fearless fighting spirit. Chang Ya Wen, a sophomore and the deputy captain, explains that her team did their best and will work harder next time.

The men’s basketball final was a tight match between TKU and National Chung Hsing University. After a close battle of 40 minutes, TKU lost by one point as it missed one penalty shot. Wong Yung-yi, a junior and the captain of the team, recognized that his team lost not because it was not good enough, but made too many mistakes that allowed the opponents to take advantage of them. Recognizing this, he believes his team will have a chance of winning the championship next time. ( ~Ying-hsueh Hu )
