President Keh Attends E-Pen & Ben-Hang Chang Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition, Encourages Further Dual-Track Transformation

As part of his visit to Tamkang University's sister schools in Japan, President Huan-Chao Keh made a special stop at the Taiwan Cultural Center in Tokyo on March 1 to attend the exhibition “The Tradition and Technology of Calligraphy – E-Pen & Ben-Hang Chang Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition.” The event was organized by Alumni Services Director Chun-Young Perng, who invited several Tamkang alumni in Japan to participate, strengthening alumni connections. Attendees included the Deputy Director of the Taiwan Cultural Center in Japan, Hui-Chuan Huang, Head of the Education Division at the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office in Japan, Kuan-Chao Huang, Director of the Yokohama Branch Office, Shu-Ling Chang, and President of the Tamkang Japanese Alumni Association Ming-Chu Yang.

During the event, President Keh exchanged views with the alumni and delivered a speech, highlighting Tamkang University's commitment to its strategic development goal, "AI+SDGs=∞," and its active promotion of dual-track transformation. He emphasized that the Smart E-Pen is a key achievement of this transformation and a significant highlight for the university. He further stated, "If even calligraphy can be integrated with AI, what else can't be?"—expressing his hopes for more areas of dual-track transformation. In his speech, Kuan-Chao Huang thanked Ben-Hang Chang for his contributions to Taiwan-Japan cultural exchange through art and acknowledged Tamkang University’s strong support for the Taiwan Education Center in Japan, which has helped encourage more Japanese students to study in Taiwan. Ben-Hang Chang, Director of the Carrie Chang Fine Arts Center, guided President Keh and the attending alumni through the exhibition, sharing insights into the showcased works. He also mentioned the February 28 panel discussion, where he introduced the development of the Smart E-Pen. A discussion highlight was a video demonstration of "Ethereal Calligraphy," which amazed many calligraphy enthusiasts.
