TKU and CECI Signed MOU to Cultivate Interdisciplinary Talents Together
Vice President for Academic Affairs of TKU, Hui-Huang Hsu, and Chairman of CECI Engineering Consultants, Inc., Taiwan, Yi-Fang Shih, on behalf of each side, signed the MOU at Shao-Mo Memorial Activity Center on November 14. The two sides will collaborate to cultivate interdisciplinary talents of high caliber, to set up test labs, and on research projects, student internship in industry, and exchanges of personnel. They will support each other and create prosperity together in the future.
Intelligent Living Space Design Competition, Jia-Hua Weng & Tsai-Xian Shao’s Cooperation Won Gold Award
“Emotion Sport-Emotion Conversion Sport Station” (Emotion Sport情緒轉換運動站), collaboratively designed by Jia-Hua Weng, a 5th-year student from Department of Architecture and Tsai-Xian Shao, a 2nd-year student from Graduate Institute of Electrical and Computer Engineering, was awarded the gold medal of Creative Fantasy from the 15th Intelligent Living Space Design Competition. The theme of the competition was “Creative Fantasy, Future Nest”(創意狂想 巢向未來). The organizer of the competition, Architecture and Building Research Institute, Ministry of the Interior, held the awarding ceremony & work sharing session on November 16th. The two students were awarded NT$ 60,000, and their advisor, associate professor Yi-Cheng Lai was awarded NT$ 5000. They were also awarded a certificate of merit for each and a trophy.

Organized by Taiwan Congress on College General Education (TCCGE), co-hosted by Center for General Education and Core Curriculum and Center for Teacher Professional Development of Office of Academic Affairs, College of Education, and Center for Ocean and Underwater Technology Research (COUTR), TKU, 2022 International Conference on General Education, Teaching Practice Research and STEAM Education, and Annual Meeting of Taiwan Congress on College General Education @TKU was held at Hsu Shou-Chlien International Conference Center on November 18-19. The theme of the conference was “Transformation of Higher Education and Dialogue between College General Education and STEAM Education”. TKU President Huan-Chao Keh, Chairperson Flora Chia-I Chang, Yi-Huah Jiang, Chinese Bud Chair Professor(紫荊講座教授) of National Chung Cheng University (NCCU), presidents of a number of universities, over 200 teachers and students from domestic universities and scholars from the United States attended the conference.
