An Insight into Factors for Success

As part of TKU’s Character Development Credit Program, on October 29 TKU alumnus Lee-Feng Chien visited the Tamsui Campus to deliver a special lecture. Lee-Feng Chien is the current General Manager of Google Taiwan. In the lecture, he talked about “Innovative Thinking and Talented Professionals of the Future”. He drew on his vast experience in the workforce and described how he began to develop a global perspective.

An Annual Table Tennis Tournament at Tamkang

Egg Roll Festival Rolls onto the Tamsui Campus

To coincide with TKU’s 62nd anniversary, on Saturday November 3 Tamkang will hold the annual Egg Roll Festival and Campus Fair activity. Now in its tenth year, the event provides a carnival-style atmosphere with numerous stalls offering specialty foods from around Taiwan and fun games and activities.

A Warm Welcome for TKU International and Exchange Students

On the 20th October, TKU held a Welcome Banquet for Tamkang international and exchange students. The event was jointly organized by the TKU Office of International and Cross-Strait Affairs and the TKU Alumni Association of Taipei City and was held at the Chueh Sheng International Conference Hall on the 10th floor of the TKU Library.

The Department of French Goes to France

Last week, several members of the TKU Department of French went to Lyon to take part in an academic symposium. The TKU delegation comprised the Dean of the College of Foreign Languages and Literatures, Dr. Wu Hsi-Deh; the Chair of the Department of French, Dr. Yang Shu-Chuan; former Department Chair, Dr. Tsai Shu-ling; and associate professor Kerkalli Mohamed.

Three Patents for Three TKU Teachers

Three TKU teachers recently received patents from the ROC and US for each of their scientific inventions. The teachers include Department of Chemistry professor, Adam Shih-Yuan Lee; Department of Mechanical and Electro-Mechanical Engineering professor, Lung-Jieh Yang; and Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering associate professor, Wu Rome-Ming.

A New TKU International Conference Center

Recently, during the 126th TKU Administrative Conference, TKU President Flora Chia-I Chang revealed a new TKU project that will see the construction of a major international conference center. The project is scheduled to be finished in 2016 to coincide with the significant milestone of Tamkang’s 66th birthday.
