Newly Designed Courses for Professional Skills

【Ya-han Cao, Tamsui Campus Report 】Tamkang University continues to develop a curriculum that gives the students applicable skills and knowledge with an increasingly internationally-oriented academic system. In step with their efforts for 2015, new courses have been designed with professionally career-related curriculum including Advanced Technology in the College of Science, Master’s Executive Aerospace Engineering Program in the College of Engineering, Full English Global Financial Management in the College of Business and Diplomats and International Relations in the College of International Studies.

The Library Adopts High Tech Search System

【Zhuo-qi, Xin-yu Wang, Tamsui Campus Report】The Chueh-sheng Memorial Library has new online services! Now students and teachers will be able to conveniently use the website, “One Stop Shop,” to find the books they are looking for. First go to the main page then click on Find Books and Articles. After entering you can use keywords to find the reading of your choice. This new digital system of information has revolutionized the way data can be collected, stored and utilized.

【Zi-cheng Wang, Tamsui Campus Report】The 2015 Annual Swim Meet took place on May 20th in the Shao-mo Memorial Swimming Pool with a total of 1,576 competitors. At the start of the event, President Flora Chia-I Chang gave words of encouragement in an opening statement. She stated, “There are 39 different events in this competition with over 1,500 competitors, marking an all time high for this yearly event. Since 2002 swimming has become a required course to help students develop various forms of strength and physical competency.”

【Yi-mei Chen, Tamsui Campus Report】On May 15th in the Student Activity Center, 950 guests arrived to see the TKU 27th Annual Music Awards. The event attracted a large crowd of students, teachers and musicians from universities all around Taiwan. The atmosphere was lit up as the students cheered in appreciation of the marvelous sounds. The winner of the event was Zhengchi University’s , Shufan Yang, who performed, “Move Like You Stole It.” The winner of the group performance was, “3 Things,”a team of 6 students of National Central University. Best Composition Award was presented to two students of National Taiwan University, Yun-ru Huang and Yu-shen Zheng for their composition of the song, “Dear.”
