Due to SARS and the demand of Ministry of Education (MOE) to temporarily halt the commencement ceremony, Tamkang University (TKU) can not but obey the MOE’s demand and hold an outdoor diploma and award presentation ceremony at the University Commons on Tamsui Campus. TKU President Chang Horng-jinh wrote a letter to congratulate parents of graduates to express his best wishes.

IAEA PAYS ATTENTION TO HEAVY WATER RESEARCH CONDUCTED BY TKU FACULTY

“Heavy Water Research” conducted by Profs. Yeh Ho-ming and Ho Chii-dong has drawn attention from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). Three experts from IAEA, accompanied by two officials of Atomic Energy Council (AEC), Executive Yuan, visited Department of Chemical Engineering and discussed the contents of research.

Public Service Center (PSC) of Tamkang University (TKU) and China Television Company (CTC) will jointly sponsor an “American language and Computer Camp” during summer vacation on Tamsui Campus. A signing ceremony of the cooperation between TKU and CTC will be held on Taipei Campus at 10:00 am of June 5. TKU President Chang Horng-jinh and CTC Chairperson Cheng Su-min and CTC General Manager Chiang Fung-chi will ink the pact on behalf their respective parties.

IMPLEMENTATION OF ISO14001 ADVANCES TO SECOND STAGE

In order to obtain the certificate of ISO14001 in the 53rd founding anniversary as scheduled, Tamkang University (TKU) ISO14001 Promotion Committee met on May 23 and announced that TKU entered the second-staged training. Colleges other than College of Sciences and of Engineering and the first level of Administrative Units should dispatch a representative for each to take part in the training program. This is to say that ISO14001 is formally promoting to all campuses of TKU.

BMA TO SPONSOR TWO CAMPS IN SUMMER VACATION

The Business Management Association, TKU will sponsor a seminar on Banking and Financial Investment and a seminar on Negotiations scheduled to open on June 21.
