Physically Challenged, Musically Gifted

On the 3rd June, the TKU Overseas Chinese Student Guidance Section will hold a special concert. The concert will feature the musical genius of two physically challenged Taiwanese musicians, Liao Hao-Ting and Zhang Zhan-Yu. The former will perform an accordion solo; the latter, a vocal solo.

On May 19, the TKU Magic Club held a show that displayed all the skills they had learned throughout the 2010 academic year. The show, called the ‘Magic Delta’, attracted magic fans from TKU, local residents, and magicians from other universities, each of whom lined up well before the show began to ensure they got good seats.

The 2011 Smoke-Free Campus Initiative

Each year, the ROC Ministry of Education (MOE) and the Bureau of Health Promotion (BHP) provide subsidies to applying universities that implement ‘smoke-free campus’ initiatives. To determine the subsidy amount apportioned to each university, the ROC government holds an annual Smoke-Free Campus Evaluation. This year, a total of 40 colleges and universities around Taiwan took part in the event.

Lanyang Goodbyes Its Graduates

Lanyang Campus is set to hold its 3rd Commencement Ceremony on the 4th June at the Clement Chang International Conference Hall. As in previous years, the upcoming ceremony will be held entirely in English.

CUHK Visits TKU

Twelve students and teachers from the Department of Japanese, Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), recently visited Tamkang. On the 25th May, they arrived at the Tamsui Campus, where they were received by Department of Japanese Assistant Professor, Tien Shih-min.
