Testing Students’ Knowledge on Germany

How much do you know about Germany? On March 6 (Wednesday), TKU’s Department of German held a trivia contest at the College of Business and Management, Tamsui Campus. The contest consisted of multiple choice, question and answer, and various stages that entrants had to successfully pass.

Music Glory for Two Tamkang Clubs

The TKU Chinese Music Club and Wind Ensemble Club took part in the Northern Taiwan finals of the National 2012 – 2013 Student Music Contest on March 3 – 4. Out of 14 competing teams in Group B, the Chinese Music Club was awarded first place. Meanwhile, from 19 university teams in Group B’s large ensemble category, the Wind Ensemble Club produced a remarkable effort, receiving an Award for Outstanding Performance and placing fourth behind leading universities such as National Taiwan University, National Cheng Chi University, and National Tsing Hwa University.

On March 6, eight members of Yamaguchi University, led by the president’s special assistant, Prof. Yasuo Okamura, visited the TKU College of Liberal Arts, Tamsui. They were received by the Dean of the College of Liberal Arts, Dr. Chiu Jeong-Yeou and taken a tour of the college’s teaching facilities by members of each academic department.

On March 6, America’s Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) visited TKU’s Tamsui Campus. The visiting delegation, made up of over 30 CMU students, faculty, and staff, took part in a forum held at the Ching Sheng International Conference Hall.

A Lively Start to a Year of Learning
A Lively Start to a Year of Learning

TKU recently held a Welcome Luncheon for students of the “Online Executive Mater’s Program in Asian Studies”. There are currently 32 students enrolled in the program, many of whom are high-level dignitaries in their home countries. The students came to the Tamsui Campus to take part in an annual initiation, in which they met with past and future supervisors, learned how to use the online course platform, got better acquainted with “classmates”, and came to know a great deal about Tamkang.
