SECURITIES STUDY SOCIETY WON THE FIRST PRIZE OF THE

“Sons of Blue Sky”, a team consisted of the members from TKU Securities Study Society, won the first prize in “Searching for the Future Manager on Campus Contest.” This contest is hosted by Taiwan Life Asset Management Cooperation. The winners not only win 50,000 NT prize money, the three teammates also received a future contract to join the company, and a certificate to let them receive training to become a professional manager in the coming days, which assure them a stable job after their graduations. Another team from TKU, “Trust Think-tank”, led by the secretary in chief of Securities Study Society, Kao Wei-kai, won the fourth place in the contest.

TKU KENDO TEAM HAD A GREAT SUCCESS AT FU JEN CUP KENDO CONTEST

The kendo team of TKU joined the 13th Fu Jen Cup Kendo Contest on May 9th and returned in triumph. In the point-scoring contest, TKU kendo team won the champion of male group and the second prize of female group. In addition, in the pass-getting contest, TKU won third place in both male and female group.

INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION OF ASIAN ARTS DISPLAYS IN CARRIE CHANG FINE ARTS CENTER

“International Exhibition of Asian Arts (Taiwanese Artists Section)” is to be displayed in Carrie Chang Fine Arts Center from May 24, 2004 to July 21, 2004. Teachers and students of TKU who missed the 2003 Exhibition of Asian Arts at Hong Kong will have a chance to appreciate twenty-three representative Taiwanese artists’ masterpieces, including works by the well-known hard-core artists, Ku Chong-kuan, and Lee Hsi-chi.

STUDENT ASSOCIATIONS AND CLUBS TO BE EVALUATED: MAY 29~31

The 2003 academic year evaluation of student associations and clubs will be held from May 29 to May 31. The awarding ceremony is to take place at 2 P.M., May 31. According to Extracurricular Activities Guidance Section, those clubs to be assessed should send their profiles and related materials to the Student Activities Center and arrange their stalls between 6 and 8 P.M, Friday (May 28).

INNOVATION FOR GRADUATION DAY: PHOTO OPPORTUNITIES WITH SCHOOL DIGNITARIES

An innovative item in this year’s graduation celebrations is the arrangement for graduates to be photographed with the Founder, the President, and the Vice Presidents of Tamkang University. In order to allow the more than six thousand graduates sufficient time to take pictures, life-sized cartoon-style photos of the school dignitaries will be placed in several locations on the campus. These photos will be made to look like movie characters such as Gandalf, Superman, Batman, and Goddess of Fortune.
